 I am really lucky to receive this kind of training on primary eye health. It has given me much broader understandings and has enhanced my awareness of my students’ eye health. Also, it brings me closer to my students. As a teacher without any knowledge on eye health, it was difficult to recognize students' eye problems and provide timely intervention to them. Before the training, I rarely thought it was a matter of vision or eye problem even if some students could not read well on the blackboard. I thought students just didn't want to study, so they were punished. Sometimes, when the students told me they couldn't see well, I only could let them to sit in the front-row. I couldn't help them to solve their eye problem on time. However, after getting the training, my knowledge on eye health has been increasing. Now, I can help my students with poor vision providing basic eye screening at the school and take them to health facility for further examination and treatment.
