In the beginning of July, the Heart to Heart International Philippine, in cooperation with the Seoul Metropolitan Government,

conducted a COVID-19 response project for the most vulnerable people in NBBN Barangay, located north of Navotas, Philippines.

NBBN Barangay is an urban poor area in northwest Manila, the capital of the Philippines,

and is one of the most impoverished slums in the Philippines,

especially the Market 3 residents living in shanty towns, are living a more difficult life with this year's COVID-19.

Heart to Heart International Philippine, in cooperation with Navotas City Government,

NBBN barangay decided to select 350 households in need of priority supporting

among 800 households living in shanty towns in Market 3.

After selected 350 households, Heart to Heart International Philippine prepared to distribute food kits including rice,

instant noodles, meat and fish tins, and hygiene kit consist of hand sanitizer, face shield, and other necessary items for preventing coronavirus.

In early of September, Heart to Heart International Philippine distributed food kits twice

and hygiene kits for selected residents. In addition, Heart to Heart International Philippine provided

comprehensive nutritional supplements including vitamins and iron to 35 pregnant women to support their babies and mothers' health care.

Moreover, Heart to Heart International encouraged local residents with relatively weak

access to information to keep basic guidelines such as washing their hands and wearing masks

by distributing notices about COVID-19 and its preventive methods, posting street banners.

The project with the Seoul Metropolitan Government will be carried out until December, and for the next three months,

Heart to Heart International is planning to conduct street broadcasts on

COVID-19 and preventive methods through Navotas City Government so that local residents can reduce their fear of coronavirus.

Heart to Heart International hopes that residents facing economic difficulties and survival

problems due to Coronavirus will regain their health to prevent infectious diseases,

and pregnant families will meet healthy children, and furthermore,

they will know the exact information and respond to COVID-19 and its preventive methods.
