The Heart-Heart Foundation Cambodia Branch is implementing a project to prevent
and manage Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in the Battambang region.
On February 11th, the branch hosted the ‘2025 Annual Review & 2026 Plan Sharing‘ at the Khemara Hotel in Battambang
to review the past year‘s achievements and outline the plans for this year‘s project.
Key partners and stakeholders attending the Annual Review
This annual review was a meaningful occasion where key partners—including
the Cambodian Ministry of Health (MoH), the Battambang Provincial Health Department (PHD) and Provincial Office of Education (POE),
the Thmar Koul District Governor, staff from the Thmar Koul Operational District (OD), its Referral Hospital, and Health Centers,
as well as the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH)—gathered to confirm the achievements
of the community-based NCD prevention and management project and to share their wisdom for even greater change.
Receiving a Certificate of Appreciation from the Preventive Medicine Department of the Cambodian Ministry of Health (MoH)
In particular, the annual review began with a special ceremony
where the Preventive Medicine Department of the Cambodian Ministry of Health (MoH)
presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the Heart-Heart Foundation, adding even greater significance to the event.
The certificate, presented by Dr. Muyseang, Deputy Director of the Preventive Medicine Department,
held profound meaning as it represented official national recognition
of the Foundation‘s sincere efforts over the past five years to strengthen
primary healthcare services and improve the health of local residents.
Participants engaged in discussions during the Annual Review
The annual review was originally scheduled for December 2025.
However, the schedule was unavoidably postponed due to the intensified border dispute
between Cambodia and Thailand at that time.
Although we could not proceed as planned, the meeting held at the start of 2026 became even more meaningful.
It provided an opportunity to thoroughly review the past year and,
based on those reflections, establish a more sophisticated and refined plan for the new year.

and provided practical advice applicable to the Cambodian context, further deepening the quality of the discussions.

The second session focused on "Community Empowerment,"
aiming to help residents develop the capacity to manage their own health.

Participants engaging in group discussions to set the strategic direction for the 2026 project
Following the presentations,
all participants divided into groups for in-depth discussions on strategies to strengthen and revitalize the 2026 project.
Together, they explored ways to ensure the project takes deeper root within the lives of the local residents,
seeking practical solutions for long-term impact.
Participants enjoying the lucky draw event
To lighten the mood, a special session was arranged during the meeting to help participants relax.
In addition to a lucky draw for prizes, everyone joined in a health gymnastics session
led by the "Social Club," the community exercise group.
Following the meal, this shared activity allowed participants to re-energize and connect through movement.
