View of the Amazon River flowing
The Amazon, often called the “Lungs of the Earth.”
Deep within it, in Leticia, Colombia and the island village of Santa Rosa, Peru,
children and youth live exposed to human rights violations, violence, and drug-related crimes,
without proper access to education or safety.

Even in these difficult conditions, there is a place working tirelessly
to protect children and youth in the village and ensure they are not excluded from educational opportunities.
At the “Good Friends Dormitory” in Leticia, Colombia, and the study room “Buenos Amigos”
in the island village of Santa Rosa, Peru, around 70 students are currently staying and nurturing their dreams for future.

But these children faced another challenge as well.
While the Amazon and the island village of Santa Rosa in Peru are known for their beautiful nature and breathtaking scenery,
the intense sunlight and high humidity are so severe that even local residents avoid going out during the hottest hours of the day.
Although education and dormitory life for children and youth continue there,
the harsh climate often becomes an obstacle for them.
Inside the poorly ventilated buildings, the children struggled with the heat and could not sleep properly.
For both the students and teachers, the extreme heat and humidity often became a barrier that drained their passion for learning and teaching.
Moreover, the high humidity inside the poorly ventilated buildings could also lead to hygiene issues such as mold,
as well as worsening health conditions for the children.
Fans being delivered to the institution after purchase
To help address these challenges, the Heart-Heart Foundation stepped in.
A total of 21 fans — 16 wall-mounted fans and 5 stand fans — were provided to the Friend’s House (Good Friends) Dormitory and the Buenos Amigos study room,
bringing a refreshing breeze to the children.
People living in the spaces where the fans were installed
The fans installed in the dormitory and study room gave the children
more than just a cool breeze.
Now, the children can sleep deeply in a more comfortable environment,
and both teachers and students are able to focus better on teaching and learning in an improved educational setting.
With smoother air circulation, indoor hygiene has also improved, along with the added effect of keeping mosquitoes away,
helping create a healthier environment for the children to grow up in.
Children expressing their gratitude in the areas where the fans were installed
Thank you so much for giving us the fans.
My room is no longer hot and has become cool and comfortable !

The Heart-Heart Foundation has stood by these children since 2021.
Starting with providing educational opportunities and supporting dormitory operations,
the foundation also helped rebuild a bakery in 2022 to ensure a stable food supply for Santa Rosa Island in Peru.
Last year, in 2025, water bags, water bag packaging machines, and educational furniture were delivered
to provide clean water and a more comfortable learning environment.
And this time, 21 fans were added as well.
Along with the refreshing breeze delivered to the dormitory in Leticia, Colombia, and the study room in Santa Rosa, Peru,
we hope a bright future for the children will follow as well.
For a better tomorrow than today, and for a world filled with children’s laughter,
the Heart-Heart Foundation will continue to lead the way.
We sincerely ask for your warm interest and support.
