Dissemination Workshop on the National Strategic Plan for Blindness Prevention and Control 2016-2020
Heart to Heart International Cambodia (HHIC) attended the Dissemination Workshop on the National Strategic Plan for Blindness Prevention and Control 2016-2020(NSPBPC) in Phnom Penh on June 8. The Secretary of State for the Ministry of Health (Pro. Eng Hout), all directors of 25 provincial Provincial Health Departments, National Program for Eye Health Officer and International and Local Non-Government Organization joined in this workshop.
NSPBC is a medium-term plan to guide health institutions at all level of the health system and relevant stakeholders to develop programs and interventions as well as investment in relation to eye health, moving toward the goal of VISION 2020: “reduce the prevalence of avoidable blindness in Cambodia to 0.3% by the year 2020”.
Presentation on 2017 result and 2018 plan of HHIC
The workshop was initiated by Prf. Ngi Meng, the Chairman of the National Eye Health Strategy Program of Cambodia, introducing about NSPBPC. The results of the 2017 project and the 2018 plan of seven agencies including HHIC that carry out eye health projects in Cambodia were also shared with participants.
In particular, Prf. Ngi Meng has asked for closer cooperation for the remaining three years until 2020, with appreciation for the efforts of organizations to prevent blindness and provide eye health services to Cambodian.

Heart-Heart International Cambodia will work harder to prevent blindness in Cambodia based on the National Strategic Plan.
