L’OCCITANE Korea Donates to the Heart-Heart Foundation
€34,700 Donation Strengthens Decade-Long Partnership
On August 22, as part of the ‘EYE LOVE L’OCCITANE 2025’ blindness prevention campaign,
L’OCCITANE Korea donated ₩52.72 million (approximately €34,700) to the Heart-Heart Foundation.
The donation ceremony was held at L’OCCITANE’s Gangnam Shinsegae Branch,
attended by Seungbin Kim, Country Manager of L’OCCITANE Korea,
and Jicheol Oh, Chairman of the Heart-Heart Foundation,
reaffirming their shared commitment to philanthropy and the enduring value of their partnership.

Since 2017, L’OCCITANE and the Heart-Heart Foundation have partnered to prevent blindness
in underserved communities across Tanzania, Malawi, Bangladesh, and Cambodia.
Through donations totaling approximately ₩580 million,
this collaboration has enabled over 570,000 people to receive to access essential eye care service,
making a significantly advancing global efforts to protect sight.
An ophthalmologist serving the community
The donated funds this time will be supported for blindness prevention activities targeting approximately 33,000 residents
and children in the medically underserved Battambang Province in Cambodia.
Below are the key initiatives planned for this year’s blindness prevention program in Cambodia.
Adult Eye Health Services
● Integrated Health Screenings: Eye examinations combined with general health check-ups at local health centers
● Diabetic & Hypertension Care: Specialized retinal screening for early detection of vision-threatening complications
Children Eye Health Services
● Teacher Training: Equipping educators with basic eye health and vision screening skills
● School-Based Screening: Primary eye examinations conducted by trained teachers
● Professional Care: Comprehensive eye exams and eyeglass provision by ophthalmologists
● Surgical Support: Coverage for necessary eye surgeries
By offering these eye health services, we ensure the early detection and timely treatment of eye diseases for everyone,
regardless of their economic or geographic barriers.
This approach is set to reduce preventable vision loss and visual impairments,
helping to improve the community‘s overall eye health.
Heart-Heart Foundation and L’OCCITANE’s Integrating Eye Health into NCD Care
and School Health in Cambodia is set to officially begin this September.
