2025 Annual Review
On December 9, The Heart-Heart Foundation Philippines Branch held the "2025 Year 2 Annual Review" in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including partners from the KOICA Philippines Office,
the Abra de Ilog Municipal Hospital, the Local Government Unit (LGU), the Department of Education (DepEd) and Barangay Captains,
to look back on the journey of the "Project for Promoting the Rights of the Mangyan People through Enhanced Maternal and Child Health."
Beyond simply sharing results, this annual review was organized to celebrate the fruits of the year with key stakeholders
and to strengthen partnerships, ensuring the continued delivery of impactful projects for the community.
Participants reviewing the annual review agenda
The Mangyan community has long faced difficulties in securing their fundamental rights due to a poor healthcare environment and a lack of educational opportunities.
Individual efforts alone were limited in overcoming the geographical and cultural barriers of the Mangyan people and creating sustainable change.
In response, the Heart-Heart Foundation Philippines Branch is implementing the project by establishing a collaborative system
with partners in the health, education, and administrative sectors.

including the strengthening of maternal and child health services,
awareness improvement through education and campaigns, and nutrition enhancement activities.
This was followed by presentations focusing on the current status of medical capacity building
at the Abra de Ilog Municipal Hospital and case studies of nutrition improvement initiatives led by Barangay Captains.
Receiving a Certificate of Appreciation from the Mayor of Abra de Ilog
In addition, the Mayor of Abra de Ilog presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the Heart-Heart Foundation,
adding even greater significance to the annual review.
This certificate was the result of formal recognition for the Foundation‘s dedication to promoting community health
in Abra de Ilog and improving the welfare of the Mangyan community.
It was also a moment that demonstrated the deep trust the Heart-Heart Foundation Philippines Branch has earned from the local government.
Choir performance by Mangyan children
Finally, a commemorative song performed by Mangyan scholars to express their gratitude deeply moved everyone present at the meeting.
It was a moment to hope that this project continues to empower Mangyan children to dream of a wider world.
